The global Giving Tuesday movement is a platform bringing people from around the world together, to donate money as well as their time and voice to worthy causes of their choosing. Taking place on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday – two of the biggest days for online consumer spending – it encourages the public to divert some of their time and money to those who need it most.

Direct sellers, who are entrepreneurs in their own right, have earned a combined R2.4 billion, reveals Rajesh Parshotam, Chairperson of the Direct Selling Association (DSA) of South Africa.

Parshotam made the revelation at the industry’s 2020 annual conference while giving updates on the 2019 calendar year.

The DSA is an industry self-regulatory body that currently houses 28 local and overseas-based member companies.
